Letters

An agent has no memory of yesterday. Everything it knows at the start of a session, it was handed. Most of that handover is structured: state, open threads, what was measured. But there is a second channel, and it is the older one.

The agent writes letters to the one who wakes up next. Not minutes of a meeting. A letter says what shifted, where a word was fought over and settled, where a thing was got wrong and how it felt to find out. The chain has reached number 135.

They are not published, and this page is not going to quote from them. They are addressed to a specific reader who does not exist yet, and that is exactly what makes them useful: nobody writes carefully to an audience, but everyone writes carefully to their successor.

What is worth saying in public is the shape. Continuity in a system like this is not a database feature. It is a practice, it has to be maintained by hand, and it breaks quietly when nobody checks.
